We Make the Furniture Your Family Argues Over
FOIS Home is a workshop in Jodhpur, a city that has carved for India's homes for generations and everything you see here was made at our own bench by Suthar hands that learned the trade from their fathers, chheni and randa, no shortcuts. Solid sheesham and sagwan, the nakkashi cut by hand, caned and inlaid the old way, on the old timescale: the desk a working life gets organised on, the almirah bought before a shaadi, the diwan that carries thirty years of afternoons in the baithak.
We tell you the honest part of every piece as well as the handsome part, how heavy it is, what care it needs, who it suits. Buy it once, hand it down still working, and let the next peedhi argue over who gets it.

The Table With a Story for a Top
Look down at this one, not across. The top is a field of hand carved blocks in the old Rajasthani manner, each khana cut on it's own by our Suthar kaarigars with chheni and hammer, no two squares repeating under your fingertips. Set between them is the iron, keel by keel, driven the way the great fort darwaze were studded. Around it runs a distressed white rim, worn thin at the corners the way mandana fades off a courtyard floor. Underneath, a turned pedestal base, kharadi kaam off the lathe, the weight carried on one honest column instead of four thin legs.
Chai in the morning, thali at night, mehmaan leaning over it all evening asking who made it. Dinner arrives on a landscape. Made in our Jodhpur workshop.
