Wide timber slats run the full width, spaced and set into the side rails, so the mattress breathes from underneath and no separate board is needed.

The headboard rises to a pierced crest, a central motif with scrolling foliage cut clean through and swept up to a point. Below the arched rail, a panel of pierced carving flanked by turned spindles, and lower still a second row of spindles closing the gap to the rails.

The footboard is one heavy turned rail carried on a gallery of turned balusters, low enough to see the room over.

Posts are turned in stages, a long taper above and heavy bulb turnings below the rail line, with diamond panels cut into the block at mattress height. They carry an open tester frame, no fabric fitted and no fixings for any.

Ceiling height decides this, not floor space. Measure that before the room.
